A police officer was seriously injured in an attack by a juvenile gang in Dhaka’s Adabar area. The incident occurred around 11:00 PM on Monday, September 1, 2025, in the Sunibir Housing area. Following the attack, police conducted an overnight operation and arrested 102 individuals.
Adabar Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) SM Zakaria confirmed the details, stating that all those arrested are members of various juvenile gangs.
According to police and local sources, a team from Adabar Police Station went to conduct a raid at a garage in the Sunibir Housing area around 11:00 PM on Monday. During the operation, members of a local juvenile gang attacked the police with locally made weapons. Police officer Al-Amin was seriously injured in the assault and was rushed to a hospital for treatment.
Police stated that the attack was led by the main leaders of the Adabar juvenile gang, Joni and Roni. They were accompanied by individuals identified as Nazir, Osman, “Dantbhaga” Sujan, “Kobzikata” Hridoy, drug dealer Raju, and several others. The attackers used sharp weapons to inflict severe injuries on the police officer.
OC SM Zakaria informed that a case has been filed at the Adabar Police Station regarding the incident.
