Juhayer Ayman, son of Md. Shariful Islam and Monira Sultana, was a resident of Katnapara in Ward No. 3 of Bogura municipality, Bogura Sadar. He had come to Cox’s Bazar for a trip with his family after completing his SSC exams.
Mohammad Osman, a senior member of Sea-Safe Lifeguard, stated that on Sunday (September 7) around 3 PM, three tourists, including Ayman, went swimming at Laboni Point. Due to strong currents, they were swept away. Following the screams of other tourists, lifeguards used a rescue boat to save two of them alive. However, Juhayer Ayman remained missing. Fire Service, beach workers, and lifeguards searched until midnight but could not find him. On Monday morning, his body washed ashore at Samitipara beach.
Relatives identified the body at the scene, and it was later taken to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital. Md. Azim Khan, Executive Magistrate of the District Administration’s Tourism Cell, said, “Preparations are underway to hand over the body to the family after completing legal procedures.”
Additional District Magistrate (ADM) of Cox’s Bazar, Md. Shahidul Alam, said, “We hope tourists enjoy the beauty of the beach and return home safely. Swimming in areas marked with red flags is dangerous. It is not desirable for anyone to return home with the lifeless body of a loved one after coming for a joyful trip.”
