The incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday (September 10, 2025). The deceased, Jamal Mia, was the son of Abdur Rahman from Nowagaon village. Upon receiving the news, Bahubal Model Police Station officers arrived at the scene and sent the body to the morgue for an autopsy.
According to Jamal’s wife, who was present at the scene, a group of 10-15 individuals entered their home around 4 AM on Wednesday and forcibly took both her and her husband out of the house. While she managed to escape, the attackers took Jamal to a nearby paddy field, where they slit his throat and killed him. She also disclosed the names of several individuals allegedly involved in the incident.
Confirming the incident, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bahubal Model Police Station Zahidul Islam said, “One person, Shiblur, has been arrested in connection with the murder. Efforts are underway to apprehend the other suspects.” He further noted that the deceased, Jamal Mia, had 17 robbery cases filed against him.
