The deceased, Rejaul Islam, was the son of Golam Tarafdar from the same village.
According to police and local sources, late Tuesday night, the assailants called Rejaul Islam out of his house and attacked him nearby, killing him by hacking and slitting his throat.
Upon receiving the news, the police recovered the body from the scene and sent it to the morgue at Jessore District Hospital.
Locals reported that Rejaul Islam was an active member of the Youth League and had multiple cases, including murder, filed against him. The incident has sparked widespread panic in the area.
Jessore Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abul Hasnat Khan stated that the police are working to identify those involved in the crime. The perpetrators will be swiftly apprehended and brought to justice.
