Two Separate Accidents in Satkhira, Manikganj Claim Lives of Construction Worker and Autorickshaw Driver

 Two separate accidents in Satkhira Upazila, Manikganj, on Friday morning resulted in the deaths of a construction worker and an autorickshaw driver, with one other person seriously injured.

According to local sources, the first accident occurred at 9:15 AM in the Mashail Khalpar area of Fukurhati Union. During construction work on a bridge, an electrical fault caused Sohag Khan (35), a resident of Koltala village in Nazirpur Thana, Pirojpur district, to be electrocuted and fall into a canal. He was critically injured and pronounced dead while being transported to Satkhira Upazila Health Complex.

On the same day, at 11:20 AM, a head-on collision between two autorickshaws occurred at Chairman Bari Mor on the Dargram-Satkhira road. Satkhira Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Shahinul Islam reported that the collision involved a CNG-powered autorickshaw and a battery-powered autorickshaw, resulting in the death of driver Rafiqul Islam (45). The driver of the CNG autorickshaw, Bareq, was seriously injured and is undergoing treatment at Manikganj Medical College Hospital. The deceased, Rafiqul Islam, was the son of Azan Miah from Gopalpur Dakshinpara.

OC Shahinul Islam confirmed that the bodies of the deceased have been sent to the Manikganj Hospital morgue for autopsy. Investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
