Two individuals named Shafikul Islam met tragic ends on the same day in Kendua Upazila of Netrokona, with one dying by suicide and the other by electrocution.
The first incident occurred on Wednesday (August 20) around 8:30 p.m. in Dhaliakona village of Nawpara Union. Shafikul Islam (32), son of the late Jaher Uddin, took his own life by hanging himself from a rain tree near his home. Local residents spotted his body while passing by and informed Kendua Police Station. The reason behind his suicide remains unknown.
In a separate incident on the same day, around 6:00 p.m., another Shafikul Islam (age not specified), son of Matiur Rahman from Telipara village in Royailbari Union, died due to electrocution. His family rushed him to Kendua Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor, Dr. Mahfuzul Haque Joy, declared him dead.
Kendua Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mizanur Rahman confirmed that unnatural death cases have been filed for both incidents.
