Srimangal Tourist Police Enhance Security Measures for Domestic and International Visitors

The Srimangal Zone of the Tourist Police has implemented various measures to ensure the safe and seamless travel of domestic and international tourists in Srimangal Upazila, Moulvibazar. With the tourism season starting in September, the district, known as the gateway to northeastern Bangladesh’s tourism industry, is expected to welcome lakhs of visitors. Alongside local administration, a dedicated team of Srimangal Tourist Police is working to promote tourism and ensure visitor safety.

Tourist attractions such as Lawachara National Park in Kamalganj, Madhabpur Lake, Bangladesh Tea Research Institute (BTRI), Alpana Road adjacent to tea gardens, Baddhyabhumi 71, and the BTRI tea estate are under the vigilant supervision of the Tourist Police. Their duties include providing services, ensuring safety, and maintaining law and order for visitors. Regular patrols, monitoring of hotels, resorts, cottages, and guest houses, as well as intensified motorcycle patrols at key tourist spots, are part of their efforts.

Tapas Das, Joint Secretary of the Srimangal Tourist Guide Association, said, “We have been working with domestic and international tourists for a long time. The Tourist Police, alongside local administration, ensures their safety. The presence of a Tourist Police office in Radhanagar’s tourism village makes visitors feel secure.”

Mohammad Kamrul Hossain Chowdhury, Officer-in-Charge of Srimangal Tourist Police, told Kalabela, “Moulvibazar is a tourism-rich area, attracting visitors year-round. Our responsibilities are extensive, including regular patrols, monitoring hotels and resorts, and collaborating with local administration to ensure the safety of foreign tourists.”
