On August 22, 2025, a colorful gala concert was held at the Rabindra Sarobar Amphitheater in Dhaka. The event was organized by the Russian House in Dhaka to celebrate the National Flag Day of the Russian Federation. This special evening brought together Russian and Bangladeshi cultural traditions, showing the strong friendship and understanding between the two countries.
The official part of the event began with speeches from a representative of Dhaka City Corporation and the Minister-Counselor of the Russian Embassy in Bangladesh. They spoke about the importance of national symbols and how the Russian tricolor flag represents the country’s identity and independence.
The cultural part of the program included performances by well-known Bangladeshi music groups. A student group called Akash’Co performed Russian songs, and the popular rock band Sonar Bangla Circus played both Russian music and their own original Bengali songs.
One of the most emotional moments of the evening was when a 31-meter-long Russian flag was carried through the crowd. This powerful scene touched the hearts of many people in the audience. Guests also enjoyed taking photos with Russian national symbols and received special souvenirs to remember the event.
Ms. Ekaterina Semenova, Minister-Counselor of the Russian Embassy in Bangladesh, said: "This concert was not just a celebration of the Russian national flag, but also a bridge of cultural exchange between our countries. We are thankful to our Bangladeshi friends for their warm welcome and shared celebration."
The event was attended by diplomats, government officials, students, and around 8,000 local visitors. Everyone praised the successful organization of the concert and its role in building stronger ties between Russia and Bangladesh. The large turnout and active participation showed that Bangladeshi people have a real interest in Russian culture, and the event helped deepen the friendship between the two nations.
