Amzad, son of Mozzafar Bepari from the same village, is considered a top criminal in the area, according to police sources.
Gajaria Police Station sources revealed that efforts to apprehend Amzad had been ongoing for a long time. Despite multiple raids, he managed to evade capture through cunning tactics. On Thursday night, with the assistance of locals, police finally arrested him in Mathavanga village. During the operation, Amzad sustained minor injuries in a scuffle with locals and was taken to the Gajaria Upazila Health Complex for treatment.
Gajaria Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Anwar Alam Azad stated, “After receiving medical treatment, Amzad has been placed in police custody.”
Police claim that Amzad faces 15 cases related to various criminal activities. His arrest is expected to improve the law and order situation in the area, as expressed by local residents.
