A devastating fire broke out in a 10-story building in Dhaka’s Kadamtali area around 2:00 AM on Friday (August 21). According to the Fire Service, they received news of the fire around 2:00 AM and managed to bring it under control after approximately one and a half hours of effort.
Hasan Ul Alam, Senior Station Officer of Keraniganj, stated that upon receiving the report of the fire around 2:00 AM, the Fire Service rushed to the scene and began efforts to control the blaze. The fire was brought under control by around 2:45 AM and was fully extinguished by 3:30 AM. He further noted that the fire caused an estimated loss of 10 lakh taka. Eleven people were safely rescued from the scene. The exact cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
However, local residents claim that the fire originated from an explosion in the air conditioning line.
