In a tragic incident in the Badda Link Road area of the capital, a concrete mixer truck belonging to Akij Company lost control and crashed into the nearby Raymond Tailors showroom, leaving the driver, Saidur Rahman (35), critically injured. He succumbed to his injuries after being taken to the hospital.
The accident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, August 20. Saidur Rahman was initially rushed to a local hospital in critical condition. As his condition deteriorated, he was quickly transferred to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College (DMC) Hospital. Doctors declared him dead around 10:30 AM.
Imrul Kayes, a colleague of the deceased, stated that the concrete mixer truck lost control in the early morning and veered onto the Raymond Tailors showroom. Saidur sustained severe injuries in the crash. Upon receiving the news, his colleagues took him to a local hospital, and later, on the advice of doctors, he was shifted to DMC, where he passed away.
Kayes further informed that Saidur Rahman was the son of Mohammad Azizul Haque from Ashtala Para village in Jibannagar Thana, Chuadanga district. He was residing in the Purbochal Patira area at the time of the incident.
Inspector Md. Faruk, in-charge of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital Police Camp, confirmed that the body has been kept at the DMC emergency department morgue. The relevant police station has been informed about the incident.
