Police in Netrakona’s Kendua Upazila recovered the body of Nuruzzaman, alias Jamal, a CNG auto-rickshaw driver, from beside a bridge in the Barobil area along the Adampur-Dullibairati road. The recovery was made around 9:00 AM on Wednesday (August 20).
The deceased, Nuruzzaman, alias Jamal, was a resident of Panchhar village in Nawpara Union, Kendua Upazila, and the son of Mogul Chan. Police also seized a blood-stained CNG auto-rickshaw from the scene.
According to local sources, late on Tuesday (August 19), fishermen noticed a blood-stained CNG auto-rickshaw on the road and informed the Kendua Police Station. Upon receiving the information, police arrived at the scene and observed bloodstains spread across the road. Following the trail, they recovered Nuruzzaman’s body from the water beside the bridge. A team from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrived to collect evidence and prepare a preliminary report.
The victim’s uncle, Mokul Miah, said, “I woke up in the morning to the news of my nephew’s death. He had left home with his CNG auto-rickshaw on Tuesday morning.”
Kendua Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mizanur Rahman stated, “Locals informed us about the blood-stained CNG, and we responded promptly. Following the blood trail, we recovered the body. The identity of the deceased has been confirmed.” He added that the body bore several injury marks, and it has been sent to the morgue for an autopsy. Efforts are underway to uncover the mystery behind the incident.
