On Thursday (August 7) around 11:30 AM, locals spotted the body entangled with a tree in the Sutang River in the Badargazi area, approximately three kilometers from where she went missing. Muntaha was the daughter of Sabuj Mia, a resident of Haldiuara village, who is currently abroad.
According to locals, Muntaha went missing on Monday afternoon while washing her hands in the Sutang River near her home. Upon receiving the news, the Chunarughat Fire Service conducted a two-day search operation but failed to locate her.
On Thursday morning, locals in the Badargazi area noticed the body floating in the river and informed Muntaha’s relatives. Her family members arrived at the scene, identified the body, and retrieved it.
Chunarughat Police Station’s Sub-Inspector (SI) Salah Uddin said, “We received information from locals about the recovery of a child’s body. The police are heading to the scene.”
