Three Killed, Several Injured in Head-On Collision Between Two Buses in Faridpur

At least three people were killed and around 10 others injured in a head-on collision between two passenger buses in Faridpur’s Sadar upazila on Thursday morning.

The accident occurred around 10:00 AM in front of the Abul Hossain Filling Station on the Dhaka-Khulna Highway in the Karimpur area of the upazila.

According to Karimpur Highway Police, the collision took place between a Dhaka-bound Royal Express bus from Chuadanga and a local Rick Enterprise bus heading to Magura from Faridpur. The crash left three people dead on the spot and injured several others from both buses.

The injured and deceased were immediately taken to a local hospital. However, the identities of the victims have yet to be confirmed. Despite the accident, traffic on the highway remains normal.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Karimpur Highway Police Station, Md. Salauddin Chowdhury, said that efforts are underway to identify the deceased. Recovery operations for the damaged buses are in progress, and legal action will be taken in connection with the incident.
