Three Bangladeshis Detained by BSF at Border

In an incident at the Sharifpur border in Kulaura Upazila, Moulvibazar, three Bangladeshi citizens were detained by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF). The incident occurred around 4 AM on Friday, July 18, 2025.

Assistant Director Firoz of the 46th Battalion of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) confirmed receiving information about the detention of the three youths by the BSF. Efforts are underway to communicate with the BSF through the local BGB camp to ascertain the details. As of now, no specific reason for their detention has been established.

Local residents of the Sanjbapur area reported that the detained individuals are Saidur Rahman (26), son of Jalal Mia, Sohag (28), son of Anu Mia, and Sipar (22), all from Haripur village. The reason for their detention remains unclear.

The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kulaura Police Station, Omar Faruk, confirmed receiving information about the detention of the three Bangladeshis by the BSF at the border.

The BGB stated around 3 PM on Friday that further legal action will be taken once the families of the detained individuals file a missing person report (General Diary) at the police station.
