Rumin Farhana Calls Demolition of Dhanmondi 32 a "Horrific Mob Act"

Dhaka, July 7, 2025: BNP leader Rumin Farhana described the demolition of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s residence at Dhanmondi 32 in the capital as a "horrific act of mob violence." She stated that the destruction, which lasted for 48 hours, was accompanied by the playing of Hindi songs, dancing, and other activities at the site.

Speaking on Jamuna Television’s political program on Sunday (July 6) night, the former BNP parliament member and Central Assistant International Affairs Secretary made these remarks.

Rumin Farhana said, “Dhanmondi 32 (Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s house) was demolished. Some may criticize me for speaking about this, but I don’t care.”
She further added, “Meetings are not allowed at Yamuna (the Chief Adviser’s residence), but we saw that the government’s own party, which I call the ‘king’s party,’ was able to hold a meeting there. Immediately after, the announcement to ban Awami League was made.”
