A fire broke out in the raw market of Konabari, Gazipur, early Monday (July 7) around 5:30 AM, destroying 16 shops and their goods. Four units of the fire service managed to bring the blaze under control after two and a half hours of effort.
Konabari Fire Service Station Officer Saiful Islam reported that the fire started in the market and rapidly spread to surrounding areas. Upon receiving the alert, four fire service units from Konabari and nearby stations responded promptly. Through their combined efforts, the fire was contained after approximately two and a half hours. No casualties were reported in the incident.
Preliminary investigations suggest that an electrical short circuit may have sparked the fire. The extent of the damage will be determined following a detailed inquiry.
