Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Expresses Condolences on the Death of Journalist Mahmudur Rahman’s Mother

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, the Amir of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, has expressed deep grief over the passing of Professor Mahmuda Begum, the mother of Mahmudur Rahman, editor of the daily newspaper

In a condolence message on Sunday (July 6), the Jamaat Amir stated, “Professor Mahmuda Begum was a pious and virtuous woman. As an educator, she served the nation by spreading the light of knowledge. I am deeply saddened by her demise.”

He prayed for the forgiveness of the departed soul, adding, “May Allah grant her Jannah and provide her bereaved family with the strength to bear this loss.”
Notably, Professor Mahmuda Begum passed away at 5:15 AM on Sunday (July 6) at Insaf Barakah Kidney Hospital in Mogbazar, Dhaka. She had been suffering from age-related complications for some time. She was 87 years old. Professor Mahmuda Begum served as the Vice Chairman of *Amar Desh* Publications. During her career, she taught in the Bangla Department at various institutions, including Chittagong Government Commerce College, Comilla Victoria College, and Titumir College.
