9-Year-Old Girl’s Body Recovered from Mosque in Brahmanbaria, Muezzin Detained

Police have recovered the body of a 9-year-old girl from the second floor of a mosque in Sarail upazila of Brahmanbaria.

According to Morshedul Alam Chowdhury, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sarail Police Station, the body was found on Sunday morning at a mosque in the Habalipara area of Shahbazpur Union. The girl had been missing since Saturday, as reported by her family.

OC Morshedul Alam Chowdhury said, “Local residents informed the police after spotting the girl’s body on the second floor of the mosque. The body has been sent to Brahmanbaria General Hospital’s morgue for autopsy.”

In connection with the incident, the mosque’s muezzin has been brought to the police station for questioning. The local police and the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) are jointly investigating the case.
