In a joint operation at the Sonamasjid border area in Chapainawabganj, the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and the Narcotics Control Directorate (NCD) have arrested three drug dealers with a huge haul of contraband.
The operation was conducted on Monday (July 21) morning at Pirujpur village in Shibganj Upazila. The arrested individuals are: Md. Amir Hossain (48), the owner of the house, Bahadur Hossain (25), and Jesmin (25), the wife of the same village's Jomir Hossain.
Lieutenant Colonel Golam Kibria, the Commander of BGB Battalion-59, informed journalists that the operation was conducted at Amir Hossain's house based on secret intelligence. The seized items include 89 bottles of Indian Phensedyl, 565 pieces of Yaba pills, and 11 lakh 28 thousand Taka in cash.
He also stated that further strong operations will be conducted in border areas to curb drug trafficking and smuggling, adhering to the "Zero Tolerance" policy.
