Body of Missing Fisherman Found in Chadpur River a Day After Disappearance

 A day after going missing, the body of a fisherman was found in Chadpur. The deceased, Sohag Mia Noval, was found dead. His body was recovered from near Chotusundar Bazar in Sadar Upazila on Sunday (July 21) morning at 9 AM.

Last Sunday (July 20), at midnight, Sohag Mia Noval (65) went missing after going to the Dakatia River in Ramapur, Chadpur, to catch fish. His body was discovered floating in the river near Chotusundar Bazar the next morning.

Al Mamun Patowary, the Chairman of Ramapur Union, stated that Sohag Mia Noval's body was found with his hands tied behind his back. He also mentioned that attempts by locals and Faridpur Service divers to find him immediately after the incident were unsuccessful.

Following the discovery, locals and residents of the area recovered his body and informed the police.

Faridpur Service Officer-in-Charge (OC) Syed Marzukul Hasan confirmed that the body was found with marks on his hands, suggesting he was tied up before being thrown into the river. The body was sent for an autopsy.

It has been revealed that Sohag Mia Noval had three live cartridges and one spent cartridge in his possession. Among the cartridges, two are with the police, and one remains with his family.

OC Syed Marzukul Hasan stated that Sohag Mia Noval's body was found with his hands tied. He mentioned that after the body was discovered, no further action was taken at the scene immediately. The body was sent to the morgue for an autopsy.

According to sources, Sohag Mia Noval went fishing in the Dakatia River on Saturday night. Locals reported hearing a quarrel near the riverbank that night. The next morning, his body was found floating in the river.

So far, no one has been arrested in connection with this incident. The investigation is ongoing.
