The bank’s spokesperson and Executive Director, Arif Hossain Khan, confirmed the figures on Wednesday. He stated that remittance inflows increased by 31.50% compared to the same period last year, when Bangladesh received $1.732 billion. Khan also highlighted that on July 29 alone, Bangladeshi expatriates sent $89 million in remittances.
Meanwhile, during the entire 2024–25 fiscal year, expatriates sent a record-breaking $30.32 billion (or $3,032.80 crore) in remittances—the highest remittance inflow in any single fiscal year in the country's history.
This surge in remittance reflects growing trust in official banking channels and plays a crucial role in stabilizing the country’s foreign exchange reserves and supporting the national economy.
