Key Suspect of ‘Honey Trap’ Gang Arrested in Chatmohar, Pabna

Police have arrested Sagar Hossain (28), the alleged mastermind behind a series of criminal activities, including blackmailing school and college students, promoting drug use and sales, and operating a ‘honey trap’ gang in Chatmohar, Pabna. The arrest was made in the early hours of Tuesday, September 2, 2025, in the Kachikata area of Gurudaspur Upazila, Natore.

Sagar, son of Tayzul Islam from the Zero Point area of Chatmohar municipal town, was exposed following an investigative report published in Jugantor titled “The Dangerous Web of the Honey Trap.” The report sparked outrage among the conscious citizens of Chatmohar, leading to a human chain protest demanding the arrest of those involved.

According to reports, Sagar, who claimed to be a dancer, along with several other young individuals, formed a ‘honey trap’ gang that targeted people from various professions, extorting money through blackmail, selling and promoting drugs, and engaging in clandestine criminal activities. The gang specifically targeted female students from schools in and around the municipal town, luring them into the group and creating explicit videos to facilitate their illicit operations for financial gain.

Following the publication of the investigative report, the conscious community of Chatmohar mobilized, and several images and videos related to the gang went viral on social media. On the night of August 30, police arrested a teenage female member of the gang from the Hemayetpur area of Pabna Sadar Upazila and handed her over to the court.

Chatmohar Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Monjurul Alam confirmed, “We have already arrested one female member of this honey trap gang and sent her to court. Subsequently, the key suspect, Sagar Hossain, has been apprehended. Legal proceedings against him are underway.”
