According to the ACC, the allegations state that significant amounts of money were withdrawn by showing fictitious fuel expenses for government vehicles allocated to DSCC officials, even though these vehicles were not used in reality. The funds were subsequently misappropriated. It is alleged that during a 40-day period when Nagar Bhaban’s operations were halted due to protests demanding that BNP leader Ishraq Hossain be appointed mayor, officials did not attend the office. However, fuel consumption of 14–15 liters per day was recorded for their allocated vehicles.
As per DSCC’s accounts, the organization spends approximately 5 crore taka monthly on fuel. Even during May and June, when Nagar Bhaban was closed, fuel expenses were reported as usual, despite no significant office activities taking place during that period.
As part of verifying the preliminary truth of these allegations, the ACC’s Enforcement Unit is collecting relevant documents and other information during the raid.
