Youth Stabbed to Death in Dhaka’s Kadamtali Over Past Enmity

A young man named Shant Ahmed Babu (28) was stabbed to death in the Pater Bag area under Kadamtali police station in the capital, due to previous enmity. The incident occurred on Monday (August 26) night.

According to Tanmoy, a friend of the deceased, around 9:45 PM on Monday, miscreants attacked Shant Ahmed Babu, stabbing him in the left side of his neck with a sharp weapon. Severely injured, he was rushed to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead around 10:30 PM.

Shant Ahmed Babu hailed from Mehendiganj upazila in Barisal district. His father’s name was the late Sadar Ali. He resided in the Shanibar Akhra Mridha Bari area and did not have a regular job. Occasionally, he worked at an IT firm owned by one of his friends.

The incident was confirmed by Md. Faruk, Inspector in-charge of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital police outpost. He stated, “The body has been kept in the hospital morgue. The matter has been reported to the concerned police station.”
