Eight army personnel were injured, two of them critically, when a truck collided with their patrol vehicle in the Model Town area of Mohanpur upazila, Rajshahi. The incident occurred around 5 AM on Tuesday (August 26).
According to police and local sources, an army patrol team was conducting routine operations in Mohanpur on Monday night. As their vehicle reached the Mohanpur Town area, a truck struck it from behind, causing both the truck and the army vehicle to veer off the road and fall into a nearby canal. Eight army personnel sustained injuries in the accident.
The injured were immediately taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, where two of them were reported to be in critical condition.
Mohanpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ataur Rahman confirmed the incident, stating, “A truck collided with an army vehicle in the Model Town area, injuring eight army personnel. No case has been filed yet, and no formal complaint has been received from the army. Legal proceedings are underway.”
