The deceased, Ashik, was the son of Mokhles Mia from Rajnagar village in Prithimpasha Union of the upazila.
Sources said that before taking his own life, Ashik posted a video on his Facebook account. In the video, he stated that he was choosing the path of suicide due to unbearable abuse from his wife.
Kulaura Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Omar Faruk said, “We have heard about the incident. However, since the location falls under the jurisdiction of the Railway Police, they will take the necessary action.”
Srimangal Railway Police Station OC Khairul Islam Talukder said the body was recovered and sent to the Moulvibazar morgue for an autopsy. An unnatural death case has been filed in connection with the incident.
