Woman Killed by Lover at Kamalapur Railway Station, Suspect Detained

A woman named Shyamoli (30) was brutally stabbed to death with a sharp weapon at Kamalapur Railway Station in the capital. Police have identified her lover, Sujon, as the perpetrator, stating that the murder stemmed from a deterioration in their romantic relationship.

The incident occurred around 11 PM on Monday (August 25). Police rescued Shyamoli in critical condition and rushed her to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College (DMC) Hospital, where doctors declared her dead at around 1 AM.

Joynal Abedin, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dhaka Railway Police Station, said Shyamoli was from Natore district and was residing in the Azimpur area. The detained suspect, Sujon, hails from Pabna district. The couple was in a romantic relationship, and preliminary investigations suggest that Sujon killed her by attacking her with a sharp weapon inside the station due to a fallout in their relationship. Sujon has been detained, and a detailed investigation is underway.

Sub-Inspector (SI) Abu Hanif of Dhaka Railway Police Station (Kamalapur) reported that they received information around 11 PM that a young man had stabbed a woman near platform 7 of the station.
