Police have recovered the body of an unidentified youth from the Inani-Patuar Tek section of the Marine Drive beach in Jaliapalong Union, Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar. Local residents spotted the body around 6:30 AM on Wednesday (August 6) and informed the police.The incident was confirmed by Durjoy Sarkar, the officer-in-charge of the Inani Police Outpost under Ukhiya Police Station.
He stated, “Efforts are underway to identify the recovered body.”
The deceased, estimated to be around 30 years old, was found without any clothing, and three injury marks were observed on his face, according to Durjoy.
Local resident Mohammad Rafiq said, “I saw the body lying on the sandy beach. After locals informed the authorities, the police arrived. It likely washed ashore due to the tide.”
Durjoy added that after completing the initial inquest, the body will be sent to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital for an autopsy.
