Fahim was the son of late Ibrahim Khalil from Hesakhal village, but had been living with his maternal grandparents in Belghar since childhood.
According to local sources and police, on Thursday evening around 9 PM, Fahim had an argument with coworkers at a tea stall near Belghar Government Primary School. Upset, he returned home and later allegedly took his own life by hanging himself with his grandmother’s scarf.
Locals called the national emergency helpline 999, and police recovered the body around 12:30 AM. The body was sent to Cumilla Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
Fahim’s mother, Panna Begum, said, “We were not at home at that time. Later, I was informed that Fahim was found hanging. I have filed an unnatural death case at the police station.”
SI Nasimul Haque Imran of Nangalkot Police Station confirmed the incident, saying, “We responded to a 999 call and found the boy hanging with marks around his neck. The body has been sent for post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death.”
