A young man named Soaib Mia (26) allegedly committed suicide due to family conflict and financial struggles in Madhabpur, Habiganj. The incident occurred on Sunday morning in the Baghasura village of Baghasura Union.Soaib Mia was the son of Zainal Mia, a resident of the same village. According to police, Soaib had been working as a laborer in various factories until a few months ago. However, he had been unemployed for the last 6-7 months, which led to his frustration. It is believed that the combination of unemployment, depression, and financial hardship led him to take his own life.
Sub-Inspector Saidur Rahman of Madhabpur police station stated that the deceased's parents mentioned that their son had been struggling with mental distress due to the lack of work. His father, Zainal Mia, said, "We don’t know the reason why our son committed suicide."
Local Union Parishad (UP) member, Mohsin Mia, said that Soaib was an ordinary man, and the exact reasons behind his suicide are unclear.
The police recovered the body and sent it to Habiganj District Hospital for autopsy. SI Saidur Rahman informed that the cause of death will be confirmed after the autopsy report, and further investigation will be carried out to check if there was any external provocation behind the suicide.
