In Khidirpur, Monohardi Upazila of Narsingdi, a schoolboy named Riyad Hossain (15) was killed in a stabbing incident. He was the son of Md. Khukhon Miya from West Montala village and a 10th-grade student at Khidirpur Multipurpose High School.
According to local sources, on Wednesday (August 13) afternoon, a group of 8-10 youths led by Tayeb and Parash from Rampur village attacked Riyad during a football game at the Montala Senior Fazil Madrasa field, stemming from a prior dispute. Severely injured from multiple stab wounds, Riyad was rushed to Monohardi Upazila Health Complex by locals, where doctors declared him dead.
Riyad’s father, Khukhon Miya, stated, “Due to a dispute over a football game the previous day, 8-10 youths led by Tayeb and Parash from Rampur village attacked my son and killed him with multiple stab wounds. I demand the death penalty for my son’s killers.”
Monohardi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Jabbar confirmed that police were dispatched to the scene immediately after the incident. The body has been sent to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital for autopsy. A case is being processed, and police operations are ongoing to apprehend those involved.
