The development was confirmed by Dr. Shawon Bin Rahman, resident surgeon at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, on Saturday afternoon. He said, “Shreya Ghosh has been discharged due to improvements in her physical condition. With this, a total of nine patients injured in this incident have been discharged from our institute.”
Dr. Shawon further stated, “Currently, 28 injured patients are undergoing treatment at our institute. Their conditions are improving. We are hopeful that the remaining patients will gradually recover and be discharged. Those who have been discharged can return to the institute for necessary follow-up treatments or surgeries in the future.”
On July 21, a Bangladesh Air Force F-7 BGI training aircraft crashed into Milestone School and College in Uttara, Dhaka, causing a massive fire that killed 35 people and injured over 173. Most of the injured were students, many of whom suffered severe burns due to jet fuel. Treatment for the injured continues at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, with the government ensuring free medical care for all victims.
