According to the acting principal of the madrasa, Maulana Abdur Rakib, Sadat had finished studying and was sleeping on the floor with his classmates. In the middle of the night, a venomous snake entered the room and bit Sadat on the neck. Hearing his screams, other students and the principal rushed to the scene, spotted the snake, and killed it.
The injured student was initially taken to a local traditional healer for treatment. As his condition worsened, he was rushed to Sapahar Upazila Sadar Hospital, where he succumbed to the snakebite around 2 AM while undergoing treatment.
Sadat, son of Sarafat Ali from Islampur Ganj in Gomostapur Upazila, Chapainawabganj, had recently enrolled in the maktab section of the madrasa to begin his studies.
