The deceased have been identified as Kala Dash (30), Akash Dash (28), and Ajit Dash (30), with the identity of the fourth victim yet to be confirmed. All victims were fish traders heading to Chittagong’s Fishery Ghat to procure fish.
Mohammad Alamgir Hossain, Deputy Assistant Director of the Fire Service and Civil Defence Department in Chittagong, confirmed the details. He stated, “Early this morning, a collision occurred between a pickup van and a covered van in the City Gate area. The pickup, traveling toward Chittagong, struck the stationary covered van, resulting in three deaths at the scene and five others injured. The injured were rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.”
According to police reports, three of the victims in the front of the pickup van died on the spot. A fourth victim was declared dead by doctors at Chittagong Medical College Hospital. The bodies are undergoing post-mortem examinations. The pickup van was carrying a total of 10 fish traders at the time of the accident.
