Biman Bangladesh Airlines Marks Milestone with First Use of Terminal 3 Boarding Bridge and VDGS at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport

Biman Bangladesh Airlines achieved a significant milestone by utilizing the boarding bridge and Visual Docking Guidance System (VDGS) at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport’s Terminal 3 for the first time. The milestone was marked when flight BG-356, arriving from Rome, landed at Terminal 3 at 10:30 AM on Monday, August 4. The airline shared this update through a post on its verified Facebook page.

According to the post, the flight was operated by a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, piloted by Captain Ishtiaque Hossain, with Tahsin serving as the First Officer. After passengers disembarked, operational tests were conducted from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM to evaluate the functionality of the VDGS, the boarding bridge’s external power connection, air conditioning system, and water supply system.

Senior officials from the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh were present on-site to observe these trial operations. This successful testing marks a significant step forward in validating the infrastructure and modern facilities of Terminal 3.
