A Bangladesh Army unit conducted an operation in the Colony Para area of Chuadanga municipality, apprehending two extortionists. The raid, carried out in the early hours of Tuesday (August 5), led to the seizure of five machetes, one cleaver, two Android phones, and two button phones.
The detained individuals are Manju Hossain (52), son of Babar Ali, and Mohammad Ratul (22), son of Selim Hossain, both residents of Colony Para. According to sources, the operation took place from 3:30 AM to 6:00 AM. Based on the confessions of the detainees, the army recovered the weapons and phones. After interrogation, the suspects, along with evidence of their extortion activities, were handed over to the Chuadanga Sadar Police Station in the morning.
Khaledur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Chuadanga Sadar Police Station, stated, “The army personnel detained the two individuals and handed them over to the police in the morning. Legal action will be taken against them.”
