In a nationwide special operation conducted over the past 24 hours, Bangladesh Police arrested a total of 1,384 individuals. Among them, 815 were wanted in connection with various cases and warrants, while 569 were detained for other incidents.
The information was disclosed on Thursday by Inamul Haque Sagar, Assistant Inspector General (AIG, Media and PR) of the Police Headquarters.
Inamul Haque Sagar stated, "In the last 24 hours, the special police operations across the country resulted in the arrest of 815 individuals wanted in cases and under warrants, and an additional 569 for other incidents, totaling 1,384 arrests."
The operations also led to the recovery of one homemade pistol, one homemade LG (light gun), two single-barrel shotguns, one homemade shooter gun, four rounds of shotgun ammunition, six shotgun shells, 50 rounds of rifle ammunition, 53 rifle cartridge cases, and two inactive hand grenades.
This large-scale police operation is part of ongoing efforts to maintain law and order and curb criminal activities across the country. Further details regarding the specific cases and charges against the arrested individuals are yet to be released by the Police Headquarters.
