Malaysia Deports 198, Including 123 Bangladeshis, from Kuala Lumpur Airport for Failing Entry Requirements

Malaysia has deported 198 individuals, including 123 Bangladeshis, from (KLIA) Terminals 1 and 2 after they failed to meet the necessary entry requirements. The Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPAS) denied them entry into the country.

AKPAS Director-General Datuk Seri Mohammad Shuhaily Mohammad Zain stated that those barred from entry would be deported under the "Not to Land" (NTL) procedure, with airlines responsible for returning them to their countries of origin.

According to a report by Malaysia’s national news agency Bernama on Friday, July 24, a total of 128 individuals were detained at Terminal 1 on Thursday, comprising 123 Bangladeshis, two Pakistanis, two Indonesians, and one Syrian. At Terminal 2, the remaining 70 included 51 Indonesians, 13 Indians, four Pakistanis, and two Vietnamese nationals.

Mohammad Shuhaily Mohammad Zain warned that operations would continue to prevent Malaysia from being used as a transit hub for illegal entry. He noted that some detainees had photos of AKPAS officers on their phones, suggesting possible links to syndicates.

Previously, on July 11, 96 Bangladeshis were similarly deported from KLIA for failing to meet entry requirements, highlighting Malaysia’s stringent immigration enforcement.
