Four Police Officers Suspended in Mohammadpur Over Negligence in Robbery Case

Four police officers, including one Sub-Inspector (SI), one Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), and two constables, have been temporarily suspended (closed) in Mohammadpur, Dhaka, on charges of negligence in handling a robbery case.

On Friday (25 July), Deputy Commissioner of Police (Tejgaon Division) Md. Ibne Mizan confirmed the matter.

Mizan stated that the police conducted an operation following the robbery incident and have already recovered the stolen mobile phone. Additionally, the suspects involved in the incident have been detained.

The incident occurred on Thursday (24 July) night when a journalist named Ahmad Wadud was attacked with a machete in Mohammadpur. The robbers took his wallet and mobile phone. Wadud reported the incident to Mohammadpur Police Station, but alleged that the on-duty police officers neglected their responsibilities.
