On Saturday (July 19), Sagar Ahmed, son of Abdul Manik from Bagmara village and the plaintiff in the case, made these allegations during a press conference held at the Bagmara Press Club.
In his written statement at the press conference, Sagar said that ASI Saddam Hossain, employed at the PBI office, lured him with the promise of securing a high-paying job at ‘Nidahadi Project Management Services’ in Dubai and took four lakh taka from him. However, instead of providing a work visa, Sagar was sent to Dubai on a tourist visa. Upon returning to Bangladesh, he filed a case against the ASI under the Overseas Employment and Migrants Act. Since then, Saddam and his associates have been pressuring Sagar to withdraw the case through various means and have threatened to kill him by shooting if he does not comply.
Sagar further stated, “Saddam’s associates have labeled me as a human trafficker and filed harassing lawsuits against me.” He demanded a thorough investigation and justice for the threats and harassment he is facing.
