Child Dies Due to Electrocution at Wedding in Cumilla

 A tragic incident occurred in Kunjashripur village, Chauddagram Upazila, Cumilla, where a 6-year-old girl named Ikra lost her life due to electrocution from decorative lights at a wedding. The incident took place around 8 PM on Friday, August 8, during the wedding ceremony of her cousin.

Ikra, daughter of Mahabubul Haque from Kunjashripur village in Alkara Union, was playing with other children near the decorative red and blue lights that adorned the wedding venue. While playing, she accidentally came into contact with the lights, leading to a fatal electric shock that caused her to collapse. Local residents quickly rescued her and rushed her to Feni Sadar Hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.

Doctors at the emergency department of Feni Sadar Hospital confirmed that Ikra had passed away before reaching the facility. Sub-Inspector (SI) Tarek Hossain of Chauddagram Police Station stated that the family of the deceased has not filed any complaints, and they have decided to bury the body without an autopsy.
