Superintendent of Police Muhammad Abdur Rokib shared the details during a press briefing held at the SP office conference room on Thursday (July 24) afternoon.

Abdul Malek Akon (60) from West Para, Keraniganj, Dhaka

Md. Sohel Rana alias Shaon (39) from Mashkhal, Kumarkhali, Kushtia

Md. Shahab Uddin alias Sabu (32) from Munshipara, Ashulia, Dhaka
The identity of one other accused has been withheld for the sake of ongoing investigation.
According to police, on the night of July 8, a robbery took place at Messrs Patwary Enterprise in Thakur Bazar, where the gang tied up the night guard and looted cigarettes and other goods. Business owner Imran Hossain filed a case the following day at the Shahrasthi police station.
Under the supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police (Finance & Administration) Md. Lutfur Rahman, a special operation was carried out by Shahrasthi police to track and arrest the culprits.
On Wednesday, police arrested Md. Delwar from Lakshmipur. Later the same day, three more accused were apprehended during raids in Gazipur and Dhaka.
SP Abdur Rokib said the robbers looted goods worth around BDT 3.5 million. The arrests were made through analysis of CCTV footage, information technology, and intelligence sources.
He added that, with assistance from both Chandpur and Dhaka police, seven members of the robbery gang have been arrested so far. Of them, three already have criminal cases in Dhaka. These three will also be shown as accused in the Chandpur case. All suspects have multiple robbery cases against them across various police stations in the country.
Further investigation is underway. After interrogation, the detainees will be presented before the Chandpur court. Officials from the SP office and journalists from national and local media were present at the briefing.
